The aim of this project is to develop an innovative and novel vestibular rehabilitation therapy platform consisting of software and hardware solutions that will result in a reduction of drug usage in the treatment of vertigo, dizziness, imbalance and other balance disorders which require Vestibular Rehabilitation (VR), and prevent the loss of patients’ labor and life quality by strengthening their vestibular systems. According to the results of academic researches, vertigo and related diseases are found in approximately 10% of the elderly people. This ratio is slightly less in younger people, and it is around %6-8 in children. In Vrt-O project, an interactive VR platform for the treatment and monitoring of patients with vertigo will be developed. In the European and international market, similar products are generally developed for physical therapy and there is not any product focuses on vertigo, dizziness, imbalance and other balance disorders. The project is mainly based on 3 technologies; sensor, 3D simulation and mobile technologies.
Objectives of the project are creating an interactive VRT platform, providing location-free usage, development of standardized exercise program and interactive treatment method, remote patient tracking, development of report and analytics module, decision support system, parametric rehabilitation modules, creating a training module, providing data security, increasing employment.
